understanding gender ideology
Gender ideology is a set of pseudoscientific beliefs that claims everyone has a “gender identity” that is separate from their body. Gender ideologues are Cartesian dualists, viewing the relationship between one’s body and gender identity similar to how many religions view bodies as being vessels for a separate immaterial soul.
Gender ideologues believe that you, your gender identity, can literally be “born in the wrong body,” and their solution to correct the “mismatch” is by altering the body through drugs and surgeries.
A mismatch is identified based on stereotypes, such as when a girl likes sports and the color blue, some conclude she must actually be a boy, instead of simply a girl with stereotypically masculine interests and preferences.
the rebranding of 'groomer'
The term "groomer" has two meanings. While it is sometimes used to describe adults initiating a sexual or predatory relationship with minors, it can also describe a process of indoctrinating children into cultish ideologies.
Specifically, gender ideology plants the idea in children’s heads that being a girl or a boy has nothing
to do with biology, and is instead about how one feels. Drugs, hormones, and surgeries are promoted to modify the body to match their perceived “gender identity” that’s rooted in sex-based stereotypes.
The left’s latest campaign to silence opposition is to rebrand the word "groomer" as a targeted smear against LGBT people, similar to how they rebranded Florida's Parental Rights in Education bill as the "Don’t Say Gay" bill.
There is a difference between calling a person who happens to be LGBT a “groomer” for indoctrinating children and calling an LGBT person a “groomer” for simply being LGBT.
